Each year Baxley our 11 year old lab/beagle goes to the vet for his yearly check up, shots, etc. The Vet and staff always remark about how active he is for his age. He is beginning to show signs of age as his eyes begin to get cloudy, black fur turns white and fatty tumors start to form on his body. The vet says this is normal for a dog "his age" so no worries yet. The Vet then made a comment that forced me to tears. Regarding the subject of Baxley aging, he said, "His body will probably give out before his spirit will". I pray the same could be said of me.
